The Dual Crown and ultra-thin walls of the clubhead are part of that design. The crown is clearly delineated from the sole and is smaller than the sole. Compared to TaylorMade's Burner TP driver, the crown on the Tour Burner is 12-percent lighter. The ultra-thin walls are only .55 millimeters thick in spots. Combined with the Dual Crown, that leaves discretionary weight available to reposition in order to lower the center of gravity. Compared to the Burner TP, the COG of the Tour Burner is 40-percent lower in relation to the center of the clubface. (A lower center of gravity helps increase launch angle.)

The Tour Burner also features TaylorMade's SuperFast technology, embodied by the combination of a SuperFast 60-gram shaft that combines low torque (2.8) with a stiff .350" tip, an extra-light grip and a club-length of 45.5". Together these components promote faster swing speed for increased distance.
The TaylorMade Tour Burner is available beginning in April 2008, with an MSRP of $499.
