Scotty Cameron said of his updated 2011 lineup of Scotty Cameron by Titleist California putters that his tweaks to the line were all about a soft visual flow.

"When you look down at a great putter in the address position, it's easy to imagine the putter head flowing naturally right into the ground," Cameron is quoted saying in Titleist's product announcement. "The refinements we made to these five new models meet and exceed that ideal. It might be a bit esoteric, but you get the sense that water won’t splash off these putters. It looks like water will just roll off the contours of the putters and shed gently off the edges."

The five new 2011 models in the Scotty Cameron by Titleist California putter line are:

  • Del Mar: Heel-shafted mallet; has a single sightline on back flange; three-quarter-shaft offset; flare-neck hosel.

  • Fastback: Modified Newport-style mid mallet; rounded back flange with three sightlines; more compact clubhead from heel-to-toe; design featuring a more compact head heel-to-toe; single-bend shaft; full shaft of offset.

  • Monterey: The Monterey is a blade-style; double-step flange and single sightline; plumber's neck hosel; full shaft of offset.

  • Monterey 1.5: This version of the Monterey has a medium flare-neck hosel with three-quarters-shaft offset.

  • Sonoma: Compact mid-mallet; D-shaped flange; three-quarters-shaft offset.

The Fastback was formerly part of the Studio Select line; it replaces the Hollywood in the California line. The Monterey 1.5 replaces the Coronado in the California line.

The Del Mar and Monterey are available in both right- and left-handed models; the other three come in RH only.

Toe flow (how much the toe of the putter closes at impact) varies through the models; the Del Mar and Monterey 1.5 have the most toe flow; the Fastback has the least; the Monterey and Sonoma are in-between.

All models set up square and have deeper milling in the clubfaces (which softens the sound at impact). All have a "Sea Mist" finish.

The 2011 Scotty Cameron by Titleist California putters begin shipping in November 2011, each with an MSRP of $375. titleist.com
