STX Golf has a couple new additions to its 2012 Sync Series line of putters: the Sync 7 Belly (SS7) and Sync 8 Blade (SS8).

The SS7 has a heavier clubhead, with more weight positions in the "wings" to help balance the putter and boost MOI. The wings also, STX says, aid the golfer in taking the putter back with less drag. Openings in the putter head are there both for optical reasons (alignment aids) and for reasons having to do with weight distribution.

The Sync 7 Belly is center-shafted, has a black PVD finish, weighs 450 grams and comes in lengths of 41 and 43 inches. Additionally, a long putter version of the SS7 is available at 500 grams and in lengths of 48 and 50 inches.

The SS8 is what STX calls a "modern adaptation" of a classic blade. It has a half-offset flared-neck hosel; a full back and a longer heel section help position the center of gravity directly behind the impact area. The Sync 8 Blade weighs in at 360 grams and comes in lengths of 34 and 35 inches.

Both putters come with a soft, friction-enhancing insert designed to maximize topspin. The inserts come in red or black, with black being the softer. stxgolf.com
