Jan. 3, 2012 - The Cobra AMP series of clubs promises "AMP'd"-up distance, plus "color and attitude," Cobra Golf says, thanks to orange-on-black detailing on the clubheads, shafts and grips. Below and on the following pages are brief looks at the driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons in the Cobra AMP series.

The Cobra AMP driver sets the tone also for the fairway woods plus the hybrids in the AMP lineup. The driver comes with Cobra Golf's Adjustable Flight Technology (AFT), which allows golfers to adjust the face angle to open, neutral or closed positions.

Cobra's "Speed Tuning" is also present in the Aldila Speed Tuned shaft options, which help the golfer match his or her swing speed to a shaft whose technology is geared to that speed. Each loft in which the AMP driver is offered is matched to the most appropriate "Speed Tuned" shaft, both in terms of weight and length, and the head weight and clubface roll specifications are also tuned.

Cobra's "E9 Face Technology" is also present, which the company says expands the sweet spot, creating a larger, elliptical area on the face to help maintain accuracy and distance on mis-hits.

An offset model is also available for golfers who need help countering a slice.

The Cobra AMP driver comes in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees in right-hand, plus 9.5 and 10.5 in left-hand. The Cobra AMP Offset driver comes with 10.5 degrees of loft in by RH and LH, plus 11.5 in RH only. Both models have the Aldila RIP Speed Tuned shaft standard, along with Lamkin R.E.L. 3Gen grips. The standard AMP has an MAP of $299 and the AMP Offset an MAP of $249; both reach retail outlets on Feb. 10, 2012. cobragolf.com
