The new driver is aimed at better players who want a more traditional pear-shaped clubhead with control and workability. What Nike calls a "Variable Compression Channel" is intended to "give tour players increased ball speeds for their 'go to' shots; these shots are not always in the center of the face," Tom Stites, Director of Product Creation, said in a news release, referring to shotshaping such as draws and fades, high cuts and stingers.
The VR Pro drivers includes Nike Golf's Str8-Fit technology, giving the golfer the option to adjust face angle.
The standard shaft is Project X. Available lofts will be 8.5 (RH only), 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5. nikegolf.com
