So you know what the "PP" in "PP-9003" stands for, but what does "Passing Point" mean? The company, best known for upscale players' clubs, says the phrase stems from "Miura's recognition of golfers' lifelong steps to improvement." When a golfer decides it's time to "step up" to a new set of clubs in recognition of improvement in his or her game, that's a passing point.
The Miura PP-9003 irons are for golfers who want forged irons with an elegant, tour-inspired appearance, but with some game-improvement features still built in. The PP-9003 irons have wider soles, but the company says they are designed in such a way as to not appear bulky. Likewise, the offset is designed in such a way, Miura says, as to make it less noticeable at address.
These forged irons are also cavitybacks, with the center of gravity placed low to help boost launch angle and produce a higher, softer-landing trajectory.
The Miura PP-9003 irons come in a 4-PW set, with gap wedge available separately. Pricing starts at $225 per iron. miuragolf.com
