The 2005 International Golf Calendar

About.com Rating four out of Five

By Brent Kelley, About.com

Stonehouse Publishing Company is the maker of the 2005 International Golf Calendar, a wall calendar designed for golfers.

The calendar features 12 months of great golf course photos, but it's the calendar grid that makes this calendar stand out from others. The grid is designed specifically for golfers.

Here's what we mean: Each month's grid includes the weekly PGA Tour event. On Feb. 24, for example, the WGC Accenture Match Play and the Chrysler Classic of Tucson tee off, and both tournaments are listed in the box for the 24th.

Also, the weekend dates are shaded gray, making them stand out, and each day's box on the monthly grid includes a spot to write in your tee time.

Pretty nifty.

Drawbacks? We'd say that this calendar would be better if it was full-sized. As it is, the 2005 International Golf Calendar is about half the height of a typical wall calendar. The photos would be even more beautiful if there were even larger.

Also, only PGA Tour events (plus majors for the LPGA and Champions Tour) are listed. Again, a larger size would accommodate the European Tour events, most of which also begin on Thursdays.

But even at its present size, there is room to include LPGA Tour and Champions Tour events, most of which start on Fridays (and so would not clutter up the Thursday boxes).

Those points aside, this calendar is nice addition to any golfer's office wall.
