Nike Golf Introduces Cold Weather and Wet Weather Golf Gloves

By Brent Kelley, About.com

Nov 3 2004
Nike Golf expects golfers to give it a hand (or two) for its new golf gloves, the Cold Weather and Wet Weather golf gloves.

As the names imply, these new gloves are designed to keep the golfer's hands warm and dry in poor weather conditions.

Golfers who won't let a cold day or rainy weather deter them from golf can thank the water ski industry for providing Nike Golf with its inspiration. Both the Cold Weather and Wet Weather gloves share a microfiber synthetic leather palm that allows water to pass through quickly, preventing water build up between the glove and the club. Additionally, Nike Golf designed a traction pattern for the palm area, similar to a tire tread that will channel water away from the glove.

The Cold Weather glove (MSRP $24) features Therma-FIT strategically placed on the back of the hand and around the wrist. Therma-FIT is a densely woven, quick drying microfiber fleece engineered to keep the wind and cold out and body heat in. The Cold Weather glove was also designed with a new wrist-cuff opening rather than the standard tab on fair weather golf gloves. Like with winter sports gloves, the design does not allow body heat to escape from the bottom of the glove. The Cold Weather glove from Nike Golf is available in Black/Charcoal in men's XS, S, M, M/L, L and XL.

The Wet Weather glove (MSRP $24) features Lycra spandex in the back of the fingers and in the gussets. The Lycra spandex material stretches and moves as the hand moves, providing a consistent fit throughout the round of golf and the life of the glove. The Wet Weather glove from Nike Golf is available in Black/Charcoal in men's and men's cadet XS, S, M, M/L, L and XL.
