Precision and power is what Precept proposes the EC Fuel Woods will deliver. Each wood in the line features a tungsten weight in the trailing edge for a lower center of gravity. A lower CG can help produce an optimal launch angle for increased distance. There's also a pressure-injected elastomer compound insert within the clubhead for reduced vibration, helping golfers get a better feel.
All of the EC Fuel woods also come equipped with a graphite shaft designed specifically for EC Fuel by Mitsubishi, which is available in Stiff-Regular (SR), Seniors (A) and Ladies (L) flexes to accommodate a range of swing speeds.
Precept EC Fuel Driver
Precept launches the EC Fuel Driver with the claim that it is one of the longest and most forgiving drivers on the market.
Its 430cc titanium clubhead features a tungsten insert in the sole, which lowers the club's center of gravity. Precept says that larger clubheads around 400cc in size and greater "tend to have a high center of gravity resulting in a sweetspot that is higher on the clubface. These clubs, while forgiving on mis-hits, often mean that golfers are not getting optimal results when a shot is struck spot-on in the center of the clubface."
The tungsten insert in the trailing edge of the Precept EC Fuel, the company says, promotes an optimal high trajectory and low spin ball flight. The elastomer compound insert inside of the clubhead produces better feel by reducing vibration.
The EC Fuel Driver comes in 9.0 (SR flex shaft), 10.5 (SR, A) and 13 degrees of loft (SR, A and L), and features a suggested retail price of $360.
Precept EC Fuel Fairway Woods
Precept designed the EC Fuel Fairway Woods to be both easy to hit and pleasing to the eye. Crafted of midsize 17-4 stainless steel, the EC Fuel Fairway Woods also feature the tungsten insert in the sole and the elastomer compound in the clubhead.
The EC FUEL Fairway Woods are offered in 15 (3-wood), 18 (5-wood) and 21 (7-wood) degree lofts, with an MSRP of $200 per wood.
The Precept EC Fuel Driver and Fairway Woods will be available in October, 2004.
