The Knife fairway woods from La Jolla Golf have gained a following through their patented "three blade technology," the blade-like runners on the sole of the club that help keep the clubface on the target line out of poor lies.

La Jolla Golf is now extending its Knife offering with the new Knife Irons, which incorporate the same three-blade technology.

"The Knife Iron is one of the most unique iron designs we've ever developed," said Paul Herber, President of La Jolla Club Golf Company. "It's loaded with innovative features that make it one of the most forgiving irons on the market today."

The Knife Irons feature shallow, patented, three-blade technology while maintaining a classic profile and topline. The shallow blades allow the golfer to better control the ball flight, according to the company. The design also incorporates hollow core weighting to increase perimeter weighting for more forgiveness, plus a tungsten ring back weight that moves the center of gravity low and rearward to help achieve a higher trajectory and better results on off-center hits. The Knife Irons also feature a vibration absorption ring on the back of the club.

La Jolla Club Knife Irons are available in 3-PW. A Hybrid Set includes 3 and 4 Knife Hybrids with 5-PW Knife Irons. A sand wedge is optional.

The clubs are available in right-handed models only. Shaft flexes are L, A, R, & S. The MSRP for the Knife Irons (3-PW) set is $349.99; the optional sand wedge is $50. The Knife Hybrid set is priced at $399.99, with Knife Hybrids priced at $99.99 individually.

Knife Irons begin shipping Nov. 1, 2004.
