Cleveland says the Launcher irons offer the highest moment of inertia (MOI) and the lowest and deepest center of gravity of any irons the company has made.
Those qualities are designed to help mid- to high-handicappers by lessening the effects of off-center hits. Additionally, the Launcher irons feature wider soles, which the company says should help recreational golfers get the ball into the air easier and more quickly.
Todd Harmon, director of product marketing for Cleveland, called the Launcher irons "the most forgiving irons that we've ever made."
The Cleveland Launcher irons begin shipping on Sept. 1. MSRP is $800 for steel-shafted sets and $928 for graphite-shafted sets.
