Here is the latest roundup of new golf equipment on the market or soon hitting it:
Adams Insight
Adams Golf has a new lineup of Insight drivers and fairway woods: the Insight BUL, Insight BTY, and Insight Belle models. The BUL version is for golfers seeking more forgiveness from game-improvement clubs; the BTY for better players who prefer a classic shape; and the Belle for women.
- Insight BUL: The large head of the BUL driver is pushed out around its edges in a nontraditional shaping that helps pull the center of gravity away from the clubface and increase the forgiveness. The driver comes in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 12.5 and HL. The stock shaft offering is the Aldila Speedline 65-gram graphite shaft. A Senior model driver is also available in lofts of 10.5, 12.5 and 15 degrees. The BUL fairway woods feature a one-piece titanium cup face and crown on a stainless steel chassis, with high MOI and COR and low center of gravity. Available models include the Strong 3, 3, 5, and 7-wood. The Aldila Speedline 75-gram graphite shaft is the stock shaft.
- Insight BTY: The BTY driver maintains a classic head shape and includes an adjustable weight port in the sole. The Insight BTY driver is available with lofts of 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 degrees, and stock shaft is the stiff tip Grafalloy 65-gram ProLaunch Red. The BTY fairway wood has a compact, low-profile head constructed from a titanium face and crown on a stainless steel body. It also offers an adjustable weight port in the sole. Models include the Strong 3, 3, 5 and 7-wood and the stiff tip Grafalloy 75-gram ProLaunch Red shaft is stock.
- Insight Belle: The Insight Belle is called Adams' "first premium driver designed by and for women." The Belle driver is lighter than the BUL and BTY, with traditional shaping but more vibrant styling. The Belle driver is available with lofts of 11 and 14 degrees, and the Adams 45-gram Speedline G45 graphite shaft is stock. The Belle fairway wood has a low-profile, high-launch design. Like the BUL and BTY fairway woods, the Belle has titanium cup face and crown on a stainless steel chassis. Available models include the 3, 5, 7 and 9-wood, and the stock shaft is the 45-gram Adams Speedline G45 graphite shaft by Aldila.
The Insight series of drivers and fairway woods will be available at retail beginning Feb. 1, 2007. MSRPs for the Insight BUL and Belle Drivers is $399.99; for Insight BTY Drivers, $429.99; for Insight BUL and Belle Fairway Woods, $249.99; for Insight BTY Fairway Woods, $279.99.
