That changes on May 28 when Daly's ball, christened the Dunlop LoCo Pro, becomes available to consumers everywhere.
The LoCo Pro is Dunlop's first multilayer, urethane golf ball. In addition to the LoCo Pro, another version, the LoCo Pro HT, is also being introduced and is geared to slower swing speeds.
The LoCo Pro is designed to offer distance off the tee and a soft feel for approach shots into and around the green. The three-piece 432-dimple-pattern LoCo Pro has a firm compression Polybutadiene core and DuPont Ionomer mantle, which combine to create high initial velocity with low spin off of the tee, aiding distance and accuracy.
On short and mid iron shots the mantle and thin soft urethane cover unite to provide the spin that golfers need to hold the green.
"Ever since John won the Buick Invitational in his very first week using the LoCo Pro ball, our phones have been ringing off-the-hook with requests for it," said Dan Murphy, Director of Marketing of Focus Golf Systems, Inc., which produces the Dunlop brand.
The LoCo Pro will be available mid-May at green grass and golf specialty retail locations with a suggested retail price of $29.99 per dozen.
For those with moderate swing speeds, Dunlop offers the LoCo Pro HT version. The LoCo Pro HT is a three-piece solid urethane ball designed for low handicap players with moderate swing speeds, and is engineered to maximize energy transfer from the driver, giving a high trajectory (HT) launch with low spin off of the tee, but soft feel and control on approach shots.
The LoCo Pro HT features a patented low count 272-dimple pattern designed to get the ball in the air quickly and provide additional carry for moderate swing speeds. A reduced compression Polybutadiene core and thin urethane cover combine for check and feel around the greens.
The LoCo Pro HT will be available May 28th at green grass and golf specialty stores and also carries a suggested retail price of $29.99 per dozen.
