The arms race going on in putters these days is all about moment of inertia, or MOI. The higher the MOI putter manufacturers can achieve, the better, they believe. And golfers seem to agree.

The huge increase in the number of oversized mallets being made, and in the sales of such big-headed putters, is all about MOI.

Tour Edge Golf's newest putter, the Bazooka Automatic, heats up the MOI arms race with its huge clubhead and its weighting properties.

The Bazooka Automatic, Tour Edge says, boasts an MOI 10 percent greater than the Macgregor Bobby Grace M5K; 14 percent better than the Never Compromise Voodoo; and 17 percent higher than the Ping Craz-E.

Why all the fuss over moment of inertia? MOI is a measure of a putter's ability to resist twisting. A putter with a very high MOI is more likely to keep a ball online on an off-center stroke than a putter with a low MOI.

The Tour Edge Bazooka Automatic putter is milled from a block of aluminum, a clubhead that is one of the largest on the market. The putter also features Tour Edge's 90-degree bend shaft, a putter shaft that bends rearward (at 90-degrees, natch) at the clubhead and is anchored near the back of the clubhead.

The bent shaft, Tour Edge says, helps golfers keep the clubface square through impact. Along the same lines, the Bazooka Automatic features four white sightlines.

The Tour Edge Bazooka Automatic putters comes in men's and women's models, right- and left-handed. Standard, belly and long versions are available.

The Tour Edge Bazooka Automatic putter carries an MSRP of $179.99.
