Aserta Sports has created a monster. The Monster by Rich Parente, that is.

Aserta makes putters that utilize something the company calls IVM, or Inverted Mass Technology. IVM puts the majority of the weight in the head of a putter above the equator of the ball, helping impart topspin at contact to reduce bumping and skidding.

The Monster, Aserta Sports says, is the best use yet of Inverted Mass Technology in its putters. The Monster was designed by (you guessed it) Richard Parente of the club's full name.

Parente was a cofounder and one-time president of Callaway, and designer for McHenry Metals, among other things. Now, he's applied his skills to Aserta's IVM. The Monster is the result.

"This is the ultimate in Inverted Mass Technology," said Mike Bonneau, inventor of IVM and founder of Aserta Sports. "Richard Parente, a legend in club design, took the IVM technology and took it to its next level."

The Monster is CNC milled from lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum for the sole and heavy, weapons-grade stainless steel for the top and face. In the Monster, the IVM is applied through the use of a hollow air gap to maximize separation of the bi-metals. That allows the maximizing of IVM while maintaining a traditional mallet shape and alignment devices.

The Aserta Monster also features a higher dispersion of weight to the back, sides and face of the putter to achieve perfect balance.

"When IVM Technology was patented," said Bonneau, "we knew that it would have many applications. We foresaw this to be the putting technology of the future. In Richard Parente's hands, he's applied this technology and created a true putting instrument that deploys an accuracy of delivery and a swing tempo unequalled by any other club on the market."
