Three blades - models MC-1i, MC-2i and MC-3i - and two mallets - models MC-4i (mid-mallet) and MC-5i - make up the initial Nike Method Core group. The putters will carry an MSRP of $159.
At the core of the Nike Method Core putters is what the company calls "Polymetal Groove Technology." Nike club designer David Franklin is quoted by the company saying, "... we've found a way to create the desired launch angle with the stability and speed control of a skid-free roll."
The clubface of the putters has an aluminum face insert backed with a polymer that "reaches" through the grooves of the insert face. The result, Nike Golf says, is less backspin, less skidding, as a result of the insert "grabbing" the ball at impact. There are also fewer impact vibrations and a purer sound, Nike says.
The Nike Method Core putters are due at retail outlets on March 3, 2011. nikegolf.com
