About the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship:
The USWAPL, as it is abbreviated, is open to women amateurs who do not hold playing privileges at private courses - golfers who are not country-clubbers, in other words, but are public-course players.
The field plays two rounds of stroke-play qualifying. The Top 64 move on to match play, with 18-hole matches. The final is a 36-hole match.
When: June 17-22
Where: Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, Norman, Okla.
Eighteen-year-old Kyung Kim defeated 16-year-old Ashlan Ramsey in the championship match, 4 and 2. Kim was in control for most of the 36-hole final, scoring 10 birdies along the way. In the semifinals, Kim def. Alice Jeong, 3 and 2, and Ramsey beat Kim Kaufman, 1-up.
