Definition: Grasses whose optimal growing conditions are in warmer weather. Warm-season grasses used on golf courses include bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, St. Augustinegrass, bahiagrass, carpetgrass and centipedegrass, according to the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. The GCSAA says optimal growing rate for such grasses is between 75F and 95F.
