Definition: A grassy incline up out of a bunker in the direction of a green, so that it faces a player attempting to play out of the bunker toward or onto the green. The facing of a bunker is often sloped upward, sometimes to intimidating heights but usually just a couple feet, and will feature thicker rough to grab an errant shot. Contrast with "lip," which will usually only be a couple inches above the level of the sand.
