Definition: "Dew sweeper" originated as a reference to a player in a pro tournament who, in the third or fourth round, has a very early tee time. Early morning pairings (when the dew is still on the ground - get it?) on the weekend in a tour event are made up of the players who've made the cut but are closest to the bottom of the field. So "dew sweeper" applied to tournament golfers is not a complimentary term.
The term has evolved to refer to any golfer who enjoys playing very early in the morning, getting out first when the dew is still on the ground.
