Definition: Type of shot from a bunker that results in a lot of sand flying out of the bunker, along with the ball. A golfer usually has to "blast out" of a bunker when the ball has settled down into the sand (or buried), requiring a hard swing in which the clubhead really digs down underneath the ball to lift it out.
