Back to Nature Golf Nutrition and Energy Bars

About.com Rating four out of Five

By Brent Kelley, About.com

The Bottom Line

Back to Nature's "1st Tee" nutrition bars and "10th Tee" energy bars are a convenient and healthier way for golfers to snack before or during a round of golf.
Pros
  • 1st Tee bar chock full of nutrients.
  • 10th Tee bar focused on energy.
  • Taste? Not half bad!
Cons
  • But, then, taste won't be for everyone.
  • Not everyone wants nutrition on the golf course.

Description

  • "1st Tee" is full of vitamins and minerals for pre-round nutrition.
  • "10th Tee" is smaller than "1st Tee," designed for a quick energy boost before back nine.
  • "1st Tee" flavors: oatmeal raisin and chocolate peanut.
  • "10th Tee" flavors: peanut honey and chocolate fudge.
  • Each bar contains its own blend of herbs to target certain physical or emotional reactions.

Guide Review - Back to Nature Golf Nutrition and Energy Bars

Back to Nature, the company that brought the world granola, now brings us what it calls its "golf nutrition system." The "1st Tee" is a "pre-round golf nutrition bar"; the "10th Tee" is a "back nine golf energy bar." Of course, what makes these "golf bars" is nothing more than the fact that they are marketed as such. The herbal blends in each are supposed to help golfers with their nerves and outlook. Herbal blends are believed in by many - but golfers tend to believe more in blends of beer and hot dogs. Or at least Snickers bars and cokes. But these bars are very convenient to carry, they do contain good nutrition and they taste pretty good. My favorite was the oatmeal raisin 1st Tee bar; peanut honey 10th Tee a close second.
