Guide Review - Precept U-Tri Golf Balls

The Precept U-Tri Tour has received a lot of favorable comparisons to the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls, and we didn't find anything that would cause us to question those comparisons. We're not going to claim that the U-Tri Tour matches the Pro V1x completely, but here's the thing: the U-Tri Tour costs about $20/dozen less than the Pro V1x. If high-performance, tour-quality golf balls are what you want - but you aren't willing to pay for the Pro V1 - then the U-Tri Tour is the 2003 ball for you.

"U-Tri" is so-named because of the 3-piece construction and urethane cover. All models use Precept's Seamless Cover Technology and Dual Muscle-Fiber Technology. Those are fancy terms in the place of a Precept boast: Our U-Tri balls go really far and with great spin characteristics!

The U-Tri Tour is a very long ball, but also gets Precept's highest spin rating for 8-iron shots.

And, as is obvious from their names, the U-Tri Extra Distance and U-Tri Extra Spin are built for golfers with a specific need in mind. These balls certainly can fulfill those needs, and are worth trying if one of them fits your needs.

But it's the overall qualities of the U-Tri Tour, however, that are special. The U-Tri series overall gets 4.5 stars in our rating, but the U-Tri Tour is definitely a 5-star ball.
