The Bottom Line

The KF103 was liked by all testers, just not as much as some other recently tested drivers. It's a solid, but unspectacular, offering from up-and-coming Kasco.

Pros

  • Specs engineered to optimize trajectory, carry.
  • Ultra-thin Super Hyten clubface.

Cons

  • Super Hyten adds to the price.
  • Sound, feel a little off.
  • Ill-fitting Velcro headcover.

Description

  • Clubhead size for the KF103 is 340cc.
  • Features the Super Hyten alloy, which Kasco says is harder than titanium.
  • Polished face and grooveless sweet spot reduce spin off the clubface.
  • Lofts range from 8 degrees to 11 degrees; model tested was 9 degrees.
  • Shaft length is 45 inches.

Guide Review - Kasco KF103 Driver

Super Hyten is an alloy developed by Kasco that the company says is even harder than titanium. It was used to great effect in the K2K Utility Club series (see link at bottom) and is put to use here, too. It also adds to the price, and the KF103 debuted with an MSRP of $499. The KF103's polished ultra-thin, ultra-strong face reduces spin while generating more ball-launch speed to increase carry. All of our testers liked this club ... just not quite as much as some others. That very subjective thing called "feel" was lacking a little bit, and nobody much cared for the sound made when the clubface and ball collided (a dull bonk). Kasco is an up-and-coming company worth keeping and eye on; the KF103 is a solid - but unspectacular - offering.
