Wilson Deep Red Fluid Feel 1 Putter

About.com Rating 2.5

By Brent Kelley, About.com

The Bottom Line

Wilson's Deep Red line has produced many outstanding clubs, in both performance and value. The Deep Red Fluid Feel putter, unfortunately, doesn't live up to those established standards.

Guide Review - Wilson Deep Red Fluid Feel 1 Putter

My biggest problem with the Fluid Feel is, well, its feel. Wilson's intent was to produce a putter that provided excellent feel and sound. But in our testing, the Deep Red Fluid Feel 1 just didn't feel very good. The feel was fine for short putts, but longer putts produced a hollow feel and hard knocking sound. The putter looks great - the quality of the design is just what you'd expect from Wilson's Deep Red line. This putter, unfortunately, just didn't live up to expectations. I have a feeling the mallet version would test much better - perhaps we'll have a chance to see about that in the future. The accessories are positives - the model tested featured a Winn grip that can accurately be called luxurious, and a very nice head cover.
