The Bottom Line

With an MSRP of $24.95, the Dunlop 65u golf ball is an excellent choice for those who want a urethane ball without paying high prices.
Pros
  • Good distance performance.
  • Excellent feel around and on greens.
  • Great price for urethane ball.
Cons
  • Not as soft as some urethane balls.

Description

  • Patented "Moebius" dimple pattern - dimples are not circular - reduces spin off the tee.
  • Multilayer construction with finished compression of 90.
  • The 58 Shore-D urethane cover is firmer than some urethane balls, which helps with distance.
  • Urethane cover produces good spin into the greens.
  • Has a crisp feel - not too soft, not too hard - on irons and into the green.

Guide Review - Dunlop 65u Golf Ball

Dunlop's VP/Marketing Shane Duffy says of the 65u, "The target was to make a urethane ball that flew straighter off the tee but still offered a high spin rate into the green. We made the cover a little firmer and used the non-circular Moebius dimple geometry to improve tee shot accuracy." I'm a big fan of this ball. As is Dunlop, otherwise they would not invite comparisons to the Titleist Pro V1 as they do on the packaging. No, it's not the Pro V1 - but for an MSRP of $24.95 per dozen, you certainly get your money's worth. The 65u has a crisp feel - not too soft, not to hard. It might not match the distance of Dunlop's popular LoCo, but the 65u is no slacker in that department. And it has a nice feel around the greens and on putts.
