Scotty Cameron's is the most-recognizable name among golf club designers working today. His putter creations for the Scotty Cameron by Titleist brand are very popular on the professional tours and with golf equipment aficionados everywhere.

The newest putters to join the Scotty Cameron by Titleist line are the Red X and Red X2. Born in the Cameron Putter Studio, Cameron created the new line using input and feedback from tour players who've been using prototypes.

The Red X and Red X2 are classic-shaped mallets, each with a very clean design and profile, a milled Studio Stainless Steel body, and clear anodized aluminum sole plate.

The primary performance feature is a soft face insert made of precision milled German Stainless Steel surrounded by vibration absorbing elastomer material, and supported by a cushioned pad for a soft, solid feel. The sole is drafted with slight negative bounce allowing the putter to sit squarely without any face closure. The top line slopes up to create a high toe feature to help ensure the putter is soled with the proper loft and face angle. Typical mallets are designed with a flat toe causing most players to tilt the toe up at address and inadvertently close the face.

The Red X model features a single bend shaft design. The shaft bore is angled toward the face and heel to produce one-half shaft diameter of offset that enhances the look and inspires confidence at address. The Red X2 is a straight center shaft configuration with the bore positioned slightly towards the heel so the shaft points at the center of the putter face for a superior look at address. The Red X2 also features three red dots on the heel side of the topline to help produce a square set-up position.

On both models, a large, red "X" complements the industrial machined look of the sole. The sole also identifies the model, weight and material used to make the putter.

"Red X putters combine the size and shape features of the best mallets of the past with design, material and appearance lessons learned through working with tour players at the Putter Studio," said Cameron. "The premium German Stainless Steel face insert surrounded by soft elastomer, in combination with the high toe profile and flowing shaft bend, creates a precise look and desirable feel. Even more importantly, the look and feel of the Red X designs instills confidence at address."

The Red X and Red X2 putters are available stock in lengths of 33, 34 and 35 inches in right hand. The Red X model is available in 35 inches in left hand. The 33- and 34-inch left hand lengths in the Red X model are available through Titleist Custom. The Red X2 model is not available in left hand. Each putter has 71 degrees of lie and four degrees of loft and includes a red Cameron Baby T grip.

The Scotty Cameron by Titleist Red X and Red X2 putters begin shipping to golf shops in June with a suggested retail price of $285.
