Precept Goes to Plan D for Value Golf Balls

D-Force, D-Feel Balls Replace EV Classic Spin, EV Classic Distance

By Brent Kelley, About.com

July 14, 2003 - Looking to add energy and excitement to its golf ball line, Precept Golf is going to Plan D. As in D-Force and D-Feel.

The D-Force and D-Feel lines, in the value category, will replace Precept's EV Classic Distance and EV Classic Spin golf balls in the Precept product line. Precept expects the new balls to be more appealing to younger players seeking a low cost, high performance golf ball.

The D-Force puts the focus on distance with a piercing trajectory, while maintaining a responsive feel. It's a two-piece ball with a 392 double-dimple, octahedron design for a mid-trajectory ball flight. The ionomer cover enhances velocity and provides responsive feel for increased short game control, Precept says, and resists scuffs and abrasions. Increased initial velocity and a solid feed are byproducts, Precept says, of a high-velocity core.

The D-Feel is for golfers who want soft feel in a high-trajectory, low-spin ball. It's a two-piece construction with a 432 single-dimple, quasi-icosahedron pattern that produces a high trajectory for increased distance. The D-Feel has a softer, high-velocity core which gives the ball less spin and helps get the ball up in the air, while the feel enhancing ionomer cover provides added distance and penetration into the wind.

The D-Force and D-Feel both debut with an MSRP of $25.
