Oct. 26, 2004 - Tommy Armour Golf has unveiled the newest addition to its flagship 845 irons brand - the 845cs SilverBack Irons. Based on the Maltby Playability Factor (MPF), the 845cs Silverback irons fit into the "Super Game Improvement" category. That means the irons should be well-received by players of all skill levels, with particular appeal to players seeking maximum forgiveness.

The 845cs model, which debuts with an MSRP of $399, utilizes a cavity back blade to achieve more perimeter weighting with greater blade length, while also maintaining the traditional look of a cast iron. The model provides added stability, while offering workability in the short irons.

The MPF is a formula that an index of clubhead playability, and is well-considered within the golf industry. The "Super Game Improvement" category includes clubs that offer maximum forgiveness and ease of play, achieving more consistency on off-center hits.

The 845cs irons are available in right and left hand, men's only, 9-piece sets (3-SW), available with Tour Step Platinum shafts by True Temper.
