How Can I Get a Copy of the Rules of Golf?

The official rules of golf are maintained by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A).

Thanks to the USGA, the rules can viewed on the About Golf site by going here.

Golf rulebooks are often offered for sale in golf course pro shops. If your local course does not offer rule books, you can request one from the USGA or R&A.

If you live in the U.S. or its possessions, you can order the Rules of Golf through the USGA Publications Store (there is a fee).

If you live outside the U.S. or its possessions, the R&A offers many publications on the rules, both free and for cost, on its shopping page (click "publications" and then "submit").

The rules can also be viewed online at the USGA Web site or R&A Web site.
