New this week in the equipment world:

• Cobra debuted its King Cobra Speed Series drivers a couple weeks ago. Now, it's the fairway woods' turn. The King Cobra Speed Series Fairway Metals come in three models, each designed for distinct player types: X/Speed for extreme ball speed players; F/Speed for faster ball speed players; and M/Speed for moderate ball speed players. The M/Speed Fairway Metals are also available in seniors and women's versions. They'll hit the market with MSRPs of $190 with steel shafts and $220 with graphite shafts. More info

• FooJoy has some new stuff on the way, but it's not shoes this time. It's outerwear. The 2006 Performance Outerwear Collection will be available beginning in January 2006, and includes the DryJoys Performance Rain Jacket, FootJoy Lined Windshirt and new Short Sleeve Performance Golf Mocks. • And sticking with apparel: Sevenwood is a new U.K. company focusing on women's golf apparel. The company launched with offerings among polo shirts, trousers, capri pants, sweaters and slipovers, and a focus on online sales. Check it out
