Two days ago, writing about PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem's announcement of the tour's opposition, I added: "My guess today is that the governing bodies will move ahead and implement the rule and that, ultimately, the PGA Tour will go along with it."
But in neither case did I explain why I felt that way. And, it turns out, today I feel even more strongly that the PGA Tour will ultimately go along with the USGA and R&A ban on anchoring, because we now know the European Tour won't support the PGA Tour's position.
So it's time to explain my prediction. Just why do I believe the PGA Tour will wind up giving in? I explain in this commentary.
