New Features for 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14'

What's new in the latest edition of EA Sports' Tiger Woods game franchise? Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 includes a new Legends of the Majors game mode, plus the LPGA career mode.

Gamers have been able to create female characters, and LPGA golfers have been included in the past. But for the new edition - which is due at stores in North America on March 26, two days later around the world - Stacy Lewis and Lexi Thompson are new additions, joining Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen and Natalie Gulbis.

And female created characters can play on the LPGA in the new edition - including competing in a major championship. The Kraft Nabisco Championship (and its course, Mission Hills) is new to the game.

The Legends of the Majors game mode gives gamers the ability to play against Seve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods, and in each of those players' respective eras. That includes wearing the clothes and using the equipment from earlier times.

Something else that's new: night golf. Tee it up under the cover of darkness, using glow-in-the-dark golf balls.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 includes 20 golf courses (Augusta National, The Old Course and Pinehurst No. 2 among them), and other current golfers include Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley and Rickie Fowler. Read more about the game here.

Platforms include the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system and PlayStation3 system (including support for the Kinect for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation Move). The retail price is scheduled to be $59.99, and the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14: The Masters Historic Edition version will follow.
