The Euro Tour's 2013 schedule was supposed to tee off on Thursday in South Africa at the The Nelson Mandela Championship. Weather failed to cooperate, and the start was pushed to Friday. Then, Friday's play was washed out, and the season's start was pushed to Saturday.
So finally, today, the European Tour got under way on its 2013 season (view scores). That 2013 season on the Euro Tour includes 45 tournament, plus several spaces on the calendar where the tour plans to play but does not yet have an announced tournament (additionally, the schedule currently lacks golf courses for a couple of the announced events).
New for 2013 on the Euro Tour is season-ending "playoff" series. The final four tournaments - BMW Masters in China, HSBC Champions in China, Turkish Open, and DP World Tour Championship in Dubai - make up what the tour is calling, simply, The Final Series.
