Cobra is releasing a limited-edition all-white version of its ZL Driver for the 2010 holiday season. How limited? Only 500 are being made.

"The Limited Edition ZL Driver is a distinct offering for our loyal customers," Brian Zender, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cobra-Puma Golf, is quoted saying in a news release. Each of the Limited Edition ZL Drivers is marked with a production serial number.

And the all-white model made its debut in the hands of Ian Poulter at this week's HSBC Champions tournament in China. "I like the visual of the new white ZL, it's really very cool," Poulter said. "It's unique and different than any driver I've seen."

The standard Cobra ZL Driver debuted about a year ago.  The limited edition all-white model boasts an upgraded shaft that alone retails for nearly $400. That shaft is the all-white, 46-inch Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 6.0. The white grip (it's an all-white driver, after all) is the Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G grip. The limited edition has all the clubhead technology of the original ZL drivers, including adjustable flight technology.

So how much will the Cobra Limited Edition all-white ZL Driver cost? The MSRP is $625. Lofts of 9.5 and 10.5 degrees will be available (right-handed only).

How do you get one? They will be available on Dec. 15, but if you really want one you better not wait that long (only 500 - remember?). Beginning Nov. 15, the driver can be preordered through participating retailers, and those retailers will be listed on cobragolf.com.

That’s a bit pricey, if you were to plan on putting that driver in your golf bag, but not a bad price if you were to buy it as collectors item only.

agree with chris; if you spend this much for a limited driver, never use it. just keep it as a collector would.it probably will increase with time since there are only 500 in the world.
