First-stage qualifers for PGA Tour Q-School tee off today and continue into next week. The dates and locations are listed below; click on the location to view the tournament page, which includes a full field list and - once play begins - will have scoreboards:
Oct. 19-22 Oct. 26-29 Oct. 27-30 Nobody in the first-stage qualifiers is a big name - but there are some recognizable names (former PGA Tour members, college stars). And there are always some interesting names.
Double heart-transplant recipient Erik Compton is playing in Port St. Lucie; 2005 PGA Tour driving distance leader Scott Hend is in Pine Mountain; and Tadd Fujikawa begins play today in Kannapolis.
There are a few Big Breakers, including Andrew Giuliani in Santee, Calif., and Tony Finau in Hawaii.
And there are relatives of more famous golfers: Arnold Palmer's grandson, Sam Saunders, in Port St. Lucie; Camilo Villegas' brother Manuel and Jay Haas Jr. in Sun Mountain, Ga.
