Mickelson Ties US Record for Most Ryder Cup Losses

By , About.com GuideOctober 2, 2010

Follow me on:

Phil Mickelson is 0-2 so far in the 2010 Ryder Cup, and Raymond Floyd is no longer the solo recordholder for most Ryder Cup losses by an American.

With his two losses, Mickelson now has 16 losses in Ryder Cup play, tying Floyd's American record. The overall recordholders in this category are Neil Coles and Christy O'Connor Sr., with 21 losses each.

Mickelson's overall Ryder Cup record now stands at 10-16-6. In his last 16 matches (going back to 2004), Mickelson has only two wins (2-11-3). Mickelson's records over that time:

  • 2008: 1-2-2
  • 2006: 0-4-1
  • 2004: 1-3-0
And 0-2 so far in 2010.
