Michelle Wie came within one stroke of tying the LPGA Tour 9-hole scoring record on Saturday in the second round of the 2010 P&G NW Arkansas Championship. But that's not to say she came close to tying it.
Wie shot 28 over her first nine holes (she started on No. 10), but that was with a long eagle putt on her ninth hole.
The LPGA 9-hole scoring record is 28, shared by three players: Paula Creamer, In-Kyung Kim and Jimin Kang. Creamer did it most recently, at the 2008 Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.
Wie joins a list of more than a dozen players who've carded 28s over nine on the LPGA Tour. That list includes Annika Sorenstam and Pat Bradley.
