This is just Woods' seventh round in the 60s in 2010, and his first since the opening round of the British Open, 12 rounds ago. It's easy to read too much into those numbers, however; keep in mind that Woods, as always, hasn't played much, and that when he has played he's played the most important events on (generally speaking) the toughest courses.
Woods ended his round tied for the lead at 6-under, with half the field yet to tee off. He had seven birdies; the only blemish was a bogey on the 12th hole. Woods missed only one fairway, which is pretty surprising given how poorly he's been driving it this year. On the other hand, his driving average was only 255 yards, so clearly Woods was dialing it way back, in club selection and aggressiveness, in order to find the short grass. Woods also hit 15 greens.
What do you think: Can he keep it up for three more rounds? Or was today a fluke?
