Big Break Sandals Resorts - Episode 6
By Seema Sadekar

So before I start talking about my challenge, let me begin with the end result: My team and I won a trip to the Turks and Caicos and I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I need my peeps' help. I said I was going to take Miles Austin or Alex Rodriguez - now they both want to go, and I don't know who to take! Geeez, what a decision ...

Let's rewind to the breakfast, another amazing morning in our mansion with a gourmet meal to start the day. As we were getting ready for another day of challenges, we were hit with another flip: Paul the Butler brought out a tray of envelopes. We each chose one to read aloud. Sitting in my "lucky" chair, I chose to read mine first, because I saw I was the first team captain. That gave me first choice for who I wanted on my team. There was no doubt in my mind that Sara was my first pick, she has been playing so well! I chose Carling next because she can deliver, too, and is good with the camera pressures ... Love you Carling and Sara! :) Lili was Team Captain 2, and she chose Chris and Taryn, who was the last one picked. Taryn is a dolly!

Ding-dong, the doorbell rang, and I was hoping it was Tiger Woods, but instead it was three former Big Break champions: Ashley Prange, Briana Vega and Kim Welch. So much fun! What if it was Mariah Carey? OMG - I love Mariah! Sometimes I pretend to sing like her when I am on the road to my next Duramed Futures Tour event, it makes me feel alive!

seema sadekar On to the first challenge, which was simply hitting a grid at 215 yards in the center of the fairway. Nobody hit it, and we all felt like giant losers. Really, Seema? I had my go-to club - a k a my 5-wood - thought it was a no-brainer, and hit it right. Just so I can have an excuse, we were aimed right, and I hit it exactly where we were aimed! So there ... On a side note, did anyone happen to notice my Indian skirt that I designed with Indian fabric with Minx Golf? It had little mirrors on it and flared out at the ends ... so cute!

The "past Big Break champions" were way too cocky and overly excited to have their debut on our (my) Sandals stage, but ended up making my team look like Destiny's Child performing at the Grammys ... Shotgun Beyonce! After Lili, Chris and Taryn weren't able to erase the lead that we had because of Sara's amazing shot, they were faced with elimination. BUT - that's how our team won a trip to the Turks and Caicos!

I had the rest of the day off to watch the elimination round, and what a roller-coaster that was! I saw the nerves really getting to the girls exactly the way it had been getting to me. All three of those women are fierce competitors and it was shocking to watch that final match.

In the end, Chris Brady, who has great hair and is a friend of mine, had to leave. The Golf Channel doesn't show a lot of it, but we partnered in a show after every episode in our confessional room and interviewed the ladies. It was so much fun, but at that time, I was like "what am I going to do without a co-host?" Chris and I used to travel together for a few events on tour and we always giggled and laughed, she was awesome! I wish her all the best in her career and her new marriage.

Next week I will be in Syracuse, N.Y., with my Aunt Carol, but I flew back to Las Vegas from New Hampshire to do a photo shoot for the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. I will have a picture for you next week! Remember to save a pet in your neighborhood because they are helpless little angels that depend on us for love, comfort and snuggles. I love you, and I will be sparkly next week - will you?

I am all for supporting your friends. Pardon my understanding I thought this was a golf skill test.

I guess I am a looser for stating the obvious. 3 shots, one wedge to 3 feet. Six episodes. She deserves to win.

(12) Lisa_Crock says:

This isn’t even golf! These skills don’t determine if you are a good golfer or not, it’s about posting numbers!

Seema has not played well on the show but she has played well on the Canadian tour getting ready to play in her 3rd Open! She is shooting great numbers on the Futures Tour as well!

Lets not judge!

I agree Lisa crock.
I would rather she win on tour than the show. LPGA or the Futures.
Success is a heavy burden to bear sometimes.
