Big Break Sandals Resorts - Episode 5
By Seema Sadekar

What a roller coaster ride of a fifth episode. I couldn't ask for better company to watch me on this bumpy ride than my supermodel sister, Nisha, and my angel pets, Juicy and Bentley. We all snuggled up on the sofa with Diet Cokes and fuzzy blankets to watch.

As I watched the fifth episode, I remember my thoughts and feelings sitting at the breakfast table that morning. I was so nervous! I mean, in the previous two episodes I hit a total of one shot. It was like starting from scratch with my emotions, excitement and nerves.

I knew I needed to start the day off well because there were a lot of expectations for me to perform. I had to prove to the viewers and to my competitors that I was in this to win, not just to look cute and be known as Ms. Fashionista. (Although I do love being called that!)

The first challenge of the day was a $3,000 tester presented by Under Armour. And yes, I said it, "LOTS of shoes" on the line, so it was time to buckle down. How do we win this challenge? We had to hit the green from increasing yardages; anyone missing the green is out and flirting with elimination.

The girls and I faced our first, short, 85-yard shot; now, what you didn't see is that it was an island green with water on the front, right and left sides. There were bunkers and a hazard behind the green that made the shot visually intimidating. I executed the shot perfectly, moving myself to the next level, the 100-yard shot. With Ryann and Taryn missing their first shots, I knew I still had four solid girls to beat.

I proceeded to hit another solid shot, advancing myself to the next level, which was a 140-yard downhill, downwind shot. Chris' shot went long, which left me and Lili, Sara, and Carling. Lili hit the green, but Carling and Sara left it super short and in the hazard. Pressure's on! I saw what the last two girls did and I didn't want to leave it short. I was comfortable and my adrenaline was going. I chose my 8-iron and hit it as flush as I have ever hit an 8-iron.

With the ball in the air, I thought it was perfect. Then it came down and was not so perfect. It was long and into the back bunker. It was totally sad to lose the $3K challenge and immunity - I would've bought shoes for everyone! Congratulations to Lili for winning the 3 G's and to Chris for getting saved, they are too cute - and Lili said she would buy me a pair of shoes anyway.

The next challenge was a tricky chip shot. We had 90 feet of green to work with and the object was to see how many shots we could hit from the front of the green to the pin, advancing each shot past the previous one. This challenge and I are not friends. Hitting a good first chip, I had an entire universe of a green to work with - but I left my next chip short of my first one. GEEEEZ! My grandmother could've hit that next chip, and she's never gripped a club before! Oh well, that's what you get when you try to get cute with your shots. And I can't believe I said the F-word on TV, oooops! On to the Elimination Challenge.

But before the Elimination Challenge aired, it was AWESOME and surprising to see the clip of me pitching my spin-off show to the The Golf Channel! "Diamonds In The Rough" with Seema Sadekar. My friends and family were sending me text messages and calling me laughing, but I am so serious! I posted a comment on Facebook regarding investors and I had a ton of takers ... watch out, golf world!

Elimination was a small nightmare, not because it was pouring rain, but because I had to put on my rain pants. Or as I also like to call them, FAT PANTS. Yuck!

Joining me in the elimination challenge were Ryann, Sara and Taryn. We had to choose a ball out of a bag and the person who chose the pink ball then got to pick her opponent. Taryn found it and chose to play me. I wasn't surprised, I mean I haven't really done anything special on the show yet, and Ryann and Sara are monsters off the tee. We were a good match.

We were the first to go and I was first to hit. I needed to put some pressure on Taryn, a k a Sweet-T. All I needed to do was hit a solid shot down the narrow fairway surrounded by hazard. I did just that, and unfortunately Taryn hit a snipe-hook left and had to take a penalty drop. I was nervous for her, we have all been there, it just sucks that it's televised for all of us to critique. After she dropped I knew she would advance the ball to about a 100 yards or so, but then she swung and missed. YIKES. Strike 1. I couldn't decide what the worst shot of the day was - my earlier chip or Taryn's whiff.

After Taryn re-evaluated her shot and punched out, I knew my best play was to lay up down the left side with a 5-iron. I left myself 84 yards, and proceeded to blast it over the green. Where was I going with that approach shot? Taxi! That was not adrenaline, that was complete insanity and stupidity. However, after a horrible chip and a gnarly putt I eliminated Taryn's eight and found myself safe and onto the next show.

Sara and Ryann's match was intense. They are both such strong, competitive players so this was a great match to watch. Sara had an unbelievable eagle chip-in to knock Ryann out, sending Ryann and Taryn to the final elimination match. Anything can happen at any time, that's golf, and Taryn and Ryann are both very capable of performing. After both found the fairway and Ryann had 208 yards left, I was curious why she didn't go for it - that's a go-to yardage for her. Taryn hit an amazing approach to one foot from the hole, putting the pressure on Ryann. Ryann gave it a great attempt, but it wasn't good enough. Ryann made par and Taryn made a birdie, and the show must go on ...

As for Ryann, I am sad to see her leave. She is an amazing player who has now won twice on the Duramed Futures Tour! She is finding herself closer and closer to the race for her LPGA card. I hope she makes it because she buys me fun birthday presents. This year Ryann, Jessica Shepley and Nicole Smith bought me black, sparkly Nike Shox! They are super cute and I get so many compliments. Also, don't get the idea that watching Ryann on the TV is over just yet, because Ryann and I this year both earned exemptions into the 2010 LPGA CN Canadian Women's Open by virtue of our finish on the CN Canadian Women's Tour Order of Merit! Yay for us!

See you all next week for some more special guests and an Indian-inspired sequined skort! Later birdie-makers!
