Big Break Sandals Resorts - Episode 4
By Seema Sadekar

I want to start by thanking everyone for all their positive feedback and the support that I've been receiving on my previous Big Break Sandals Resorts blogs. I feel very privileged and honored to be writing for About.com and I am truly thankful.

I am currently writing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where I'm competing in my final 2010 CN Canadian Tour event. Having won the 2008 money list, I have high expectations to perform well. My goal is to stay upbeat and positive. Deep breaths, Seema! You can do this!

So let's talk about luck this week, shall we? I mean, totally on my side. Last episode, Greg Norman saves me, and in this episode I find the save-and-send card under my chair. What are the odds? I'm thinking about hitting up the Vegas slot machines this week to see if I can keep the momentum alive! Chanel and Fendi, if I win big, here I come! Wink wink!

On a serious note, finding that card under my chair was a little awkward and uncomfortable for me. You want to be able to prove yourself and earn that card to advance to the next show. However, this is a game, this definitely isn't real golf, and this show is all about luck and chance. I think it's funny when I hear the comments made about weak and strong players - seems a bit irrational. It could've been any one of those girls sitting at my seat, but it was me. I knew the ladies were upset, but you just have to roll with this Big Break game and go with it.

seema sadekar big break diary Having to choose one of the girls to share the day with me was difficult. I do love them all but I could only choose one. I've grown up with all the girls and have competed with them since we were little, all but Ryann and Taryn. And it came down to those two girls as to who I'd save. Ryann and I have known each other and have competed in the same collegiate events, but never played together until this year at the Brownsville, Texas, stop on the Duramed Futures Tour. We've become close friends since and she is now currently a part of the Play Golf Designs team. She is super competitive with remarkable golf skills. I figured Ryann would be able to hold her own and come back to our mansion, so I chose Taryn. It was still an awkward decision to make, and it was funny to hear the responses.

Taryn is also a Play Golf Designs Professional who I became friends with and met for the first time on the show. We were roommates along with Elena and Kelly. We got to spend the day on a boat, going snorkeling and seeng all the pretty fishies ... cute! Honestly, though, not my thing ... I would've traded it for a mani 'n pedi in a heartbeat! And looking back, I would have preferred competing and getting more TV time. All in all, we had fun and it was the way the competition shaped my day.

I still feel weird about that day. Drama is not my thing - it is bad energy that creates unnecessary conflict. I stay out of all of that because it is not in my nature to cause problems. I'm beyond the irrelevant distractions in life with all that I have on my plate with golf, businesses and all I want to accomplish in life. My sister and my family have always reminded me to respect my competitors, no matter what. Spinning the bottle for the head-to-head matchups for their first challenge was a great way to let things happen without causing drama.

During the show I saw the girls hit some great shots, it was impressive with that kind of pressure. It was sad to see my close friend Stacey go home, I really respect Stacey as a friend and a person. She is someone who just keeps it real and tells you how it is. We are currently traveling together this year on the Futures Tour and are having so much fun! I wish her all the best and I love her very much.

See you all next week! Let's see if the luck is still with me, and whether I get more airtime ...

Most of us understand the awkwardness
of the situations you encountered. You handled yourself with spiritual and intellectual honesty.
The “bootle spin” was the perfect impartial
way to select the teams.
Drama and careful editing makes these types
of shows interesting. No Proooblleeem!
You can’t help it if you “shine”! It’s a gift!
Shine on Seema!!!

Seema

You have something special in you, and there is a reason that you were saved last week into this week. You are correct when you say that this is not real golf, but it is a real competition that you are trying to win. It is alright for you to feel awkward, and let them say as they will. You are our favorite because you make us smile and you are genuine. I hope to see you continue until the end.

Your Friend, Deloris.

Hey Girl! When we played in Japan (NAVY) there was some fire in you. Not seeing too much of that on t.v. watching you. You look a little bit tentative. Very unlike you. No fear, nothing to lose. Get out there and have some FUN! Your fame will last longer than the average 15 minutes everybody else gets. Enjoy watching you & best of luck!
