Big Break Sandals Resorts - Episode 2
By Seema Sadekar
It has been an incredible past week! I got an invite to play in the CVS Pro-Am in Providence, R.I. I was competing against some of the best on the PGA and LPGA tours. As some of you may know, I'm active with Play Golf Designs Inc. (PGD), a female professional golf organization and event company that expands women's golf through events, fashion and entertainment. Everything we do is so fun and we are able to grow women's golf every day. Of this Big Break cast, myself, Ryann O'Toole, Sara Brown, Taryn Durham and Maiya Tanaka are current PGD Professionals. Taryn and I were selected through PGD to play in the CVS event. I met my favorite and fellow Indian tour player, Daniel Chopra. He loved my sparkly bag and headcovers! Daniel is also a fan of Michael Jackson, which makes Daniel one of my new BFF's. I'm definitely going to send him a sparkly headcover.
After the CVS, it was back to Toronto, where I watched the second episode of Big Break Sandals Resorts. I'm currently playing in a CN Canadian Tour event, and spending time with my parents and my kitty cat, Prada. My life always has so many fun things going on all at once.
The second episode was very eventful for me. The girlies and I started the day off with a solid breakfast in our magnificent mansion. Our first challenge of the day was getting up and down from anywhere from 20 to 50 yards, the distance of our choosing. The person who made the up-and-down from the farthest distance would win the "Save or Send" card and be safe and on to the next show. Most of the girls chose to hit the tight, tricky 50-yard shot, which was the smartest decision. I, on the other hand, chose to hit the simple 35-yard shot. I knew that I could easily get it done and being the first off, put pressure on the other girls.
Things didn't go as planned - I proceeded to hit my second heavy shot so far on Big Break Sandals Resorts, and left myself with a left-to-right, uphill putt. I remember lining my ball up thinking, "You have to make this Seema, don't mess this up." I really didn't give myself the chance to focus on my line and the task at hand; I was focused on the outcome instead of staying in the process. I ended up having the perfect line but left it short; I should've hit the putt harder. SHOULDA, COULDA, PRADA!
Carling, Ryann and Stacey played remarkable 50-yard up-and-down shots to go into a playoff. The ladies put on a great short-game clinic for us, but there was only one winner. Carling tapped in her 1-and-a-half-foot putt to win the elimination, then used the "Save or Send" card to save Maiya. The two beautiful golf goddesses enjoyed the rest of their day off laying on the beach and sipping on pina coladas. Totally JEALOUS!
Our next challenge was a head-to-head long-drive competition. I was up against Taryn. She striped her drive 238 yards down the center and I hit mine 230 down the center, sending myself into the elimination challenge along with Kelly, Lili and Chris.
The elimination challenge was crazy. To know that there was a chance for me to go home after the second show was upsetting. I had to stay strong and positive because anything could happen. It's golf.
Chris, Lili, Kelly and I faced a 160-yard shot into 3-point and 2-point circles on the green. Hitting the green outside of the circles was worth one point. I hit a dreadful first shot, barely making it into the bunker fronting the green, but then recovered with a 3-point shot on my second. That tied me with Lili and Chris after the 160-yard shots, with Kelly one behind.
Next we moved on to a 100-yard shot, and I hit both my attempts into the 2-point circle. That got me to seven points, tied with Chris, one behind Lili and two in front of Kelly.
Our last shot was 125 yards, straight away. Chris and Lili went ahead of me, and while watching them rack up points I knew what I had to do: hit solid shots! Unfortunately, things didn't work out. I left my first attempt short and was unable to increase my point total. I was upset and heartbroken. As I'm writing this, I'm still shaken up! Watching the episode with my parents, and seeing how disappointed they were makes me even more upset.
Kelly was up next. I left the door wide open for her to take advantage and send me home. After she hit her shot way left into the trees, I knew I was very lucky to be safe. Even though I was relieved, my heart went out to Kelly. She's a very sweet person who will have lots of success with her coaching career.
On to the next show. My next outfit is really fun and sparkly - I can't wait for you to see!

I was amazing by the shot that ended the show. The nerves must really be amped with all the film crew around and knowing what’s at stake. I’m excited to see the glass break next week!
Hi Seema,
you definitely had me on the edge of my seat. please don’t scare me like that again. hope to see you in chicago at medinah again soon.

I didn’t know there was a show like this! How awesome! I am definitely going to watch now and follow your blog. I can’t wait to see the sparkly outfit. I get criticized for my skirts that I wear golfing. I am 6ft tall so the shorts that have to be a certain number of inches above the knees don’t work for me. I have a 36″ inseam. I love that there are clothes that don’t make you look like an old lady or lesbian. Which I am neither.
I am really enjoying you ladies this year on the golf channel, you remained so calm after hitting some bad shots, but you also hit some good ones to put you up ahead. Good luck and I will be watching out for you.
Take Care

Yeah SEEEEEEEEEMA! Do it girl!
Last weeks show was pretty good but Kelly and Seema hit a couple of horrendous shots when the pressure was on. A good cast of ladies who can play the game as well as look good doing so!
The pressure was on for sure! Don’t worry Seema, because Golf Instruction Guy doesn’t follow you on tour and doesnt know that you are a real playahhhhhhh! Show those haterz what you got girl and step it up. B.
Do you know some of these ladies from when you were younger? It seems like some of you ladies are closer than others. Jon T.
Hi Seema!
Little behind on watching the show but caught the last episode. Scary last shot you hit, but i must say you held yourself together and you were very professional about it.
Wishing you all the best!
Lora
Oh Seema!
These two episodes have been real “nail-biters”.
Keep plugging away.
You’re still the cooooolest!!!!
What a great experience for you!!
