US Open First- and Second-Round Groups, Tee Times

Who are Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson playing with in the 2010 U.S. Open? The USGA released the groupings and start times for the first two rounds. And the two biggest stars in the games are grouped thusly:

• Phil Mickelson tees off at 8:06 a.m. (Pacific time) on Thursday, playing with Padraig Harrington and Y.E. Yang
• Tiger Woods tees off at 1:36 p.m. on Thursday, playing with Lee Westwood and Ernie Els

The USGA had its usual fun with the pairings. In the Thursday morning session, back-to-back tee times each include one Japanese player, one Dane named Soren, and one Molinari brother. There's the Aussie grouping - Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, Robert Allenby. One group has three past British Open winners, and another has three past U.S. Open winners. And two of the hottest hotshots, Ryo Ishikawa and Rory McIlroy, are playing with 60-year-old Tom Watson. I suggest they call him "Sir" and hope he doesn't beat them.
