Sixteen-year-old Jordan Spieth and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo are among the golfers who will tee it up on Monday in one of 13 U.S. Open sectional qualifiers around the United States. So is Rickie Fowler, and so are several past U.S. Open champions.
The 36-hole qualifiers are the last chances for golfers to earn spots in the field for the 2010 U.S. Open golf tournament, scheduled for Pebble Beach Golf Links June 17-20.
Most of the PGA Tour guys who've yet to qualify will play the sectional in Columbus, Ohio, near The Memorial; some others in Memphis, Tenn., near this week's St. Jude Classic. Another one with plenty of recognizable names is in Rockville, Md., near where the Nationwide Tour wraps up on Sunday.
The qualifying sites, with number of spots available from each, are:
- Sacramento, Calif. (Del Paso Country Club), 4 spots
- Littleton, Colo. (Columbine Country Club), 2 spots
- Hobe Sound, Fla. (McArthur Golf Club), 3 spots
- Roswell, Ga. (Ansley Golf Club/Settindown Creek Course), 2 spots
- Woodstock, Ill. (Bull Valley Country Club), 2 spots
- Rockville, Md. (Woodmont Country Club), 7 spots
- St. Louis, Mo. (Country Club of St. Albans), 1 spot
- Summit, N.J. (Canoe Brook Country Club), 4 spots
- Columbus, Ohio (Brookside Golf & Country Club/The Lakes Golf & Country Club), 15 spots
- Springfield, Ohio (Springfield Country Club), 3 spots
- Portland, Ore. (Columbia Edgewater Country Club), 3 spots
- Memphis, Tenn. (Germantown Country Club/Ridgeway Country Club), 12 spots
- The Woodlands, Texas (Club at Carlton Woods), 2 spots
Spieth is entered in the Memphis sectional, which also includes 2-time U.S. Open champion Lee Janzen. Romo plays in the Texas qualifier.
Past U.S. Open winners Tom Kite (Littleton, Colo.) and Corey Pavin (Woodstock, Ill.), plus Davis Love III and Tom Lehman (Columbus, Ohio), and Steve Elkington (Texas) are other former major champions trying to get back into the U.S. Open.
Fowler plays in Columbus, Ohio. Jamie Kureluk, the Canadian pro who carded a 25 over nine holes a couple weeks ago, is entered in Portland, Ore.; and Big Break bad boy Andrew Giuliani plays in Summit, N.J.
We'll be posting the names of qualifiers beginning late Monday afternoon as the scores start to roll in.

Where can I find the tee times for the sectional qualifier at Brookside CC in columbus, Ohio for the US Open?

I’m looking for the Norwegian player, Henrik Bjornstad, do you know where he’s playing? Or even better, can you post a link to the live scoring page (if available)?
Bjornstad is playing in the Memphis sectional, see http://tga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/tga10/event/tga1073/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
where can I find the live leaderboard for Bull Valley?
Can’t tell yet if the Chicago District Golf Association has live leaderboard capability. No leaderboard is linked at the time of this writing, and the qualifier is under way. But check http://www.cdga.org/event.asp?id=5, the CDGA tournament schedule, and scroll down to June 7. The scores will be linked there at some point.

Rockville, MD? I need an update!
What is the link for Rockville, MD live scoring?
Keep in mind that not every qualifier has live scoring (or scoring updates of any kind) available. These sectionals are run by regional or state golf associations, and its up to those USGA affiliates to post scoring. Some do a great job, others don’t.
Geoff Shackelford has posted links to all the tournaments pages here – http://www.geoffshackelford.com/homepage/2010/6/7/us-open-sectional-live-scoring-links.html — but again, keep in mind not every link will get you live scoring.

The Maryland scores are available at http://www.middleatlanticga.org/uploads/2010-Results-Rnd1-NewspaperReport.pdf
I cannot believe the usga does not have a site to check scores from available locations

Ties are decided in sudden-death playoffs.
