By May 21, 2010

Follow me on:

Jordan Spieth, a 16-year-old Texas high school student, added his name today to the list of youngest golfers to make a cut on the PGA Tour.

Spieth carded rounds of 68 and 69 in the first and second rounds of the HP Byron Nelson Championship, making the cut at 3-under par. He is 16 years, nine months and 24 days old.

Who is Jordan Spieth? He won the 2009 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and is the reigning American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year. He is the No. 1-ranked junior golfer in the U.S. in the latest Golfweek rankings.

Regardless of how Spieth finishes at the Nelson, he already has another PGA Tour appearance lined up. He'll be playing next month at the St. Jude Classic.

Another 16-year-old, Grayson Murray, made the cut in the Nationwide Tour Rex Hospital Open today.Tour's Rex Hospital Open. It's not just women's golf that has a bunch of teen phenoms popping up.
