How cool is Fred Couples? So cool he can play The Masters without socks. Never let 'em see you sweat. They don't call him Freddie Cool for nothing.
What most Masters viewers noticed about the kicks Couples sported in the first round is that they appeared to be tennis shoes. Actually, they are Ecco Golf Street Premier designs, which hit retail this weekend on eccousa.com priced at $140 per pair.
Why did Fred wear them sockless? Ecco says it's the Comfort Fiber insole that controls moisture and temperature. The Ecco Golf Street Premier shoes are also spikeless, but do have 100 molded traction bars. Couples, master of the smooth swing, probably doesn't need any traction bars at all.
Other fashion sightings at The Masters: Ryan More brings back the necktie and adidas' Tour staff sport special-edition shoes.

Above is Moore's second-round outfit, complete with button-down shirt and necktie. It's a classic look ... if you ignore the cap. Moore isn't mixing metaphors, he's mixing fashion eras.
Below is the special Masters edition of the adidas adiPure shoes with Masters-green Powerband stripes. These shoes are worn at The Masters by adidas Tour staff Justin Rose, Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson.
This version won't be available to consumers, but several other striking color combos will be, including black-on-white and white-on-black, along with all-black and all-white versions.
The adiPure line features classic leather golf shoe design with all the modern technology, such as waterproofing right down to the waxed laces. Not to mention adidas' "ThinTech" sole and cleats, which get the golfer's feet closer to the ground, along with enhanced cushioning and a polyurethane sock liner. The best Masters fashion always comes late Sunday, when the Green Jacket finds a new owner.

Love those green stripes.
Might even buy a pair with “those” stripes.
