Cheyenne Woods, neice of you-know-who, is now a winner in college golf. Cheyenne, a sophomore at Wake Forest University, won the Bryan National Collegiate tournament on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C., for her first tournament win at the collegiate level.

Woods posted rounds of 70, 69 and 72 to finish at 5-under 211, two strokes clear of Nathalie Mansson of the University of Tennessee. Her second-round 69 is the best score she's posted so far in collegiate competition, and her 211 total is the second-lowest 54-hole total in the history of Wake Forest women's golf.

Cheyenne had a good freshman season at Wake Forest in 2008-2009. Last summer, she played in her first LPGA tournament as a sponsor invite to the Wegmans LPGA.

In the Fall portion of her sophomore season, Woods finished in the Top 10 in three of four tournaments and led her team in stroke average (72.8). One of those Top 10s was at the Lady Tar Heel tournament, where, like at the Bryan National Collegiate, she was the 36-hole leader. In that earlier event, however, Woods lost the lead, shooting 77.

In the Spring 2010 season thus far, Woods has improved her finishes from 54th to 12th to sixth, and now to her first victory.
