David Duval was unable to follow up his second-place showing last week at Pebble Beach with a good tournament this week in Mexico. Duval will miss the cut at the Mayakoba Golf Classic after a second-round 79.
Duval opened with an even-par 71, and another 71 in the second round might not have been good enough, either (as I write this, the projected cut is 1-under). But the 8-over 79 today eliminates any doubt. Duval had four bogies, one double-bogey and two triple-bogies.
