Woods will appear at 11 a.m. (ET) on Friday in the clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass. Woods will give a statement in front of "a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates." Only pool reporters will be present; most media who decide to show up will be in a separate room watching Tiger's performance remotely. No reporters will get to ask questions.
Woods hasn't been seen in public since Nov. 27, 2009, when, in the wee hours of the morning, he crashed his SUV into a tree on his next-door-neighbor's property in Florida. There was a purported sighting of Woods at a Mississippi clinic that treats sex addiction, complete with a grainy photo, but whether that was actually Woods in the photo hasn't been confirmed beyond doubt. Perhaps Woods will address those reports on Friday.
Or perhaps not. I don't expect Woods to reveal anything more than what he feels is the absolute minimum he can get away with. But the first step in Woods' return to golf has to be some sort of public statement and apology, and that's what we'll get on Friday.
Hopefully, Woods will also provide golf fans with an idea of where and when his return to tournament golf will take place, and more specifically whether he plans to play The Masters. Woods' agent said in an emailed statement, "Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future and he plans to apologize for his behavior."
What do you think Woods needs to say on Friday?

If he gives the Clinton ’sex addiction’ defense, and VRWC theory as an excuse, then I’m outta here!!
I’m just expecting him to say how and when will he return to competition and how he feels his behavior will influence his golf performance and relationship with the gallery. Also if he will remain married or is planning to split with his wife.
Who cares, he is a brilliant golfer. His image, or role model status is completely shattered with his Tom Cat antics. Other than his golf I have no interest in him what so ever.
The media need celeb’s to peddle their wares. They make and then wait for the slip ups then a feeding frenzy follows.
For god sake tiger say your sorry and get back on the golf course What do you expect with all them woman after you Next time take your wife with you from time to time ps get in the hole ???????
Who cares !
His private life is his, true people look up to a famous person, but its his private business not ours…now lets get him him back on the Course!!!
Go Tiger
He needs to tell us when he is coming back to golf. Nothing more.
No comment other than this question: How much is he being paid to put on this act. May he never play pro golf again and have a long life for each day will have moments of pure Hell as he recalls what could have and should have been. A former fan.
As an admirer of Tiger Woods I don’t think its anybodies business of his personal life.
He is human and humans make mistakes more often then they want to admit.
People say Tiger Woods is paid for his image I say that’s bull @#$@.
His image is not what wins the golf games he won or the high scores he has made.
It was all the above that got him into trouble… it would have done any one else the same and I would not doubt that it hasn’t, just that not so many have been caught .
Look at John Daly….Nobody talks about his errors and what about all the movie actors and actress they are
no better but sill we go to the movies.
Tiger needs to say what he feels is necessary to bring him back to his game, he is a perfect golfer and we love him for it. Public opinions are what they are, some will try to destroy him and others will say he is a young man, and we all make mistakes. Take President Clinton, the public forgave him for what he did in the White House, “I never had sex with that woman” did he ever appoligize or even admit to it, no – he said in Court ‘what is the definition of sex”. Most people still like Pres. Clinton and so do I… So let this young man carry on with his sport and let him save his marriage without the media involments and insinuations, the Enquire is the worst paper and the people that write the stories are just missirable bunch. Good luck to you ‘Tiger’
Donate all your money to charity and start over. Who could criticize you for doing that?
“I’m human and we all fail at some time in some way.” Tiger .There are a lot of other great golfers I just hope the golf TV operators treat them all equal and not just Tiger Tiger Tiger.
I can hardly wait to see what Tiger does when someone yells out “In the hole”, probably drop his pants.
Yes, I forgive him for what he did to his beloved wife, but he still is arrogant, self centered, and will continue to swear and spit on the green even when he does come back. Not much of a role model I would dare say. I was a big fan of his but no longer. Hope he is a big enough man to save hi marriage.
I PRAY THE BASTARD NEVER COMES BACK..
GOLF WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT THE CHETAH…….
If Tiger Woods is trying to restore his public image, then he is naive, because I don’t think that’s possible. As for those that think his personal life (off the golf course) is irrelevant, then I beg to differ.
The Tiger Woods Foundation was trying to instill solid character values into the youth (not just the golf things) .. things like personal responsiblity and integrity. This is where Tiger has failed so miserably .. by being such a flagrant hypocrite. And the idea that he will not answer questions at his “public statement” certainly won’t help matters if he is seeking personal redemption from the fans.
Personally, I think he should come clean about everything and be humble about the whole mess if he is seeking forgiveness. We all are part of a flawed human race, and folks will surely be understanding.
Now .. as for the golf thing: If he can get through this ordeal and becomes an even better golfer, then that will certainly solidify his greatness in the sport.
I for one .. wish him well.
Obviously to date, the greatest golfer living. His personal life is not for us to judge. However, I feel that he has made hundreds of millions of dollars based on a “perfect image” (by the media and sponsors). If Tiger’s words are sincere, then I hope that he and his Agent give back the Money that they have both made because of this “Godlike” image that all have been lead to believe is true.
Tiger….you became the first “Billion Dollar Athlete”. You are by far the greatest golfer on the planet today, but you are also a fraud!
I hope that during your next appearance in any tournament, the fairways are lined with spectators 20 people deep. I hope they boo, yell and scream what a fraud you are as a person!
Other than that…good luck. You’ll need it.
The fact that Tiger is not answering questions means he’s hiding something. Come on be a gentlemen and admit your faults. I don’t respect guys like this.
